i’m getting to like houston mayer white more and more. the other day, during a press conference, a reporter asked some stupid question. the mayer stated “use your COMMON SCENTS and JUDGEMENT”. i like that. people are expecting to get fed (physically, mentally, intellectually, emotionally, every ways) from someone or some agency. WHY??? then they will blame you for telling them what to do. i just don’t understand that.
but i have a few suggestion to the local (city, county, state) and federal government. (although, a lot of these things can be avoided, if each individual become more responsible and prepared for these events.)
- state should start our own oil reserve system like fed does. then at the time of crises, like we had this time, put it to use by placing fuel supply areas along the major highways.
- place emergency port-a-potties along the major highways
- place water supply areas along the major highway
- start the contra flow earlier
- work places should release workers much sooner so that we can evacuate earlier
- people should try to take as few cars as possible. if you are family of four, don’t take two cars. this will save gas and will help the congestion. i know i sound like a socialist, but i don’t want to hear any complaints if you are doing this and got stock in the traffic for 24 hrs.
- get a good map
- get some gas cans
- evacuate with water and food
- keep your car maintained
i’m sure i will think about it more later. i will write more then.
