お雑煮作ってみました。スープは普通の醤油ベースのスープ。具はかまぼこ、油揚げ、にんじん、サラントロです。サラントロは雑煮をテックスメックス風に仕上げるために、入れてみました。
I made some ZONI (Mochi Soup) with our home made mochi. The soup is a clear soy-sauce-based soup. Other than mochi, I put fish cake, deepfried tofu, carrots, and cilantro. I put cilantro in there to give a little TexMex floavor. It was very good.
餅は焼かずにスープで煮ました。理由はオーブントースターをいちいち出すのがめんどくさかったからです。

そしてもう一つテキサス風に仕上げるために大きい茶碗を使って中身もたくさん入れました。”大きければ良い”というのがテキサス哲学です。（で、ラーメンどんぶりでも食べてみました。餅は３個はいりました。写真のうつわでは２つがちょうどいいと思います。）

アメリカに来てもう22年半。結婚して12年。長男が生まれてからすでに９年。これまでにあまり伝統的な日本の行事とか文化とか何もしてませんでした。でも、今年から我が家では餅つきを年中行事の一つに� えました。12/31の日記にも記入しましたが、お餅作ったらすぐなくなっちゃったので昨日またつきました。
いつもどおりにもち米を一晩水につけておいて、ざるにあけて１５分まつ。待ってる間にもち米を蒸す水を沸騰させておく。そして、もち米を30分蒸す。火をきるまえに蒸し� 減を確認してく� さい。しんが残ってるよう� ったら、もうちょっと蒸す。で、キッチンカウンター（クッキーシートでもいいと思う）に蒸しあがったもち米をのせて、つき始めます。杵がないので、いつも大きめなゴ� でできたとんかちのようなものでついています。英語でRubber　Malletというんですが、日本語では何て言うんでしょうね。それを大きなビニール袋で包んで使ってます。　聖も餅をついてくれました。
前回はお醤油� けで食べたん� けど、かまぼこ買ってきたから今度はお雑煮にします。

出来上がり。� �好は悪いけど、味は最高！

聖はつきたてのもちを� �糖につけて食べるのが大好き。サ� はお餅がちょっと苦手なので写真無しです。
