it was not hard at all. i have a co-worker who is really into this, so i’ve been bugging him about it. it was one of those situation that i didn’t know if i really should do this.

i remembered seeing some app on one of my favorite site called newdownload“新しもの好きのダウンロ~ド” it is a great mac app site. they introduce new apps and keeps us updated. i looked around and found it. it is called “what’s up”. i downloaded it first. then i registered with minidns.net and dyndns.org to use their free service. i configured what’s up. (oh, and what’s up is only available in japanese. too bad since it is a nice little app for mac and good thing that i can read japanese.) then i configured my d-link wireless router. ( i have a line going from cable modem to this router. then the network get split up to my wireless powerbook, windoze, and to this mac.) first i locked an ip to to mac address on my g3. then configured it so that all the http request would go to my g3.
powerd by os x

my g3 is a 233mhz and has 416mb ram and 4gig on the harddrive. g3allinonenothing fancy. but i am running
OS X 10.2.8osxjag,
apacheapache,

and mysql mysql. i hope it will last for a while.

i will write a step by step page soon.
